I’ve read a couple of books by MN Bennet, and I’ve enjoyed them. This is no exception. While it doesn’t appear that too much time has passed between the books, I didn’t feel lost.
I adored the characters. Milo and Dorian were genuinely incredible. I loved how they navigated their relationship and made it work. I think they have a little further to go to get their relationship where it should be, but I have faith. It was also nice to see Dorian with his students. It was cool to see his level of care for them.
The plotlines were interesting, but I didn’t feel they were as cohesive as they could have been. That said, they had me glued to the book to see where the plotlines were going. I also enjoyed the spice. That was well done. The book does end on a cliffhanger, which I didn’t see coming… however, I didn’t hate it. It makes me excited to read book 3.
