Eden Smith runs quite a lucrative business called Dirty Deeds. What’s her specialty, you might ask. Revenge. And boy is she great at it until a dead body floats onto the beach, that is. Eden’s business relies on secrecy. So when a dead body floats onto the beach clutching her business card, she is in serious trouble. Detective Kelly Riordan lands the case, and it has been fireworks ever since. Eden has evaded Detective Riordan at every turn until they meet face to face. When it becomes apparent that her life is in danger, Kelly will do everything he can to ensure she’s there to get her revenge.

There were non-stop action and attraction! It was awesome to read both Eden’s and Kelly’s thought process. Even better, watching the two of them figure out how each other’s mind worked. She grew up on the streets while he did everything to earn his father’s love. To be able to read each other was truly fascinating. While there was a lot of romance, there was also a good deal of respect between the characters. These characters were well written and fleshed out. AJ weaves a dramatic tale of the cost of revenge, trust, and love. I can’t wait to see what happens next and rumor has it, whispers: this is a series!

Usually, everyone hates a sequel. It is never as good as the first one. That is not the case here. Guinevere is now married to King Arthur, and while it is not the marriage she wanted, there is very little she can do about it. They have come to respect each other to do what is best for the kingdom and find the Holy Grail. Unfortunately, there is evil at every turn. Just when you thought you knew who to trust, friends quickly become enemies.

CAMELOT’S QUEEN is extremely well written, and I could not put it down. I was captivated with every page, twists, and turns. In other stories, Guinevere is the adulterous wife, but that is not the case in this story. In this story, she is the scapegoat.

I loved every second of this story. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I hope it continues.

There once was a time, if you wanted safe travels by sea, you needed to make a sacrifice. There is a Kraken at the bottom of the ocean who feeds off of magical powers and a power hungry priest who lives to instill fear into the villagers. To keep the villagers in fear, not everyone sacrificed is a magical being. While this is the story of a witch coming into her own and finding love, it’s also a story of what happens when the priest, Alistar, has two enemies and he gives them a common enemy, himself.

Witch’s Sacrifice will leave you wondering what will happen next. There are twists and turns, and people who should be enemies are allies. Ms. Moss creates such a world that you feel like you’re standing by the ocean with the merman, Artiro, listening to the waves crash against the shore as the witch, Marizza silently pleads for him not to go. While it might seem like a lot of pages, there is so much going on that you don’t realize you’ve finished at least 4 chapters in a matter of minutes. I will admit the ending wasn’t what I hoped for, but now I have something to look forward to. I must confess, that has me excited.

Welcome back to Eagle Ridge Ranch, and give a big Texas hello to Reece Browning! Reece is the newest member of ZQ’s old team to come to the ranch for recovery after the loss of his arm. After the trauma he endured at the hands of his captors, Reece has taken to not speaking. Gina, his physical therapist, is the polar opposite. She’s quite the chatterbox. In the beginning, it looks as though it bugs him that she talks non-stop, but it’s really just to get him to open up. He slowly starts to open up, and you get to see what Reece may have been like before becoming a SEAL. As the story progresses, you get the backstory of Gina and Reece. You also meet Gina’s daughter, Piper, who is the smartest 6-year-old you will ever meet, and she’s looking for a father. While their friendship develops into a relationship, trouble is brewing. Will ZQ and his team be able to step in and prevent a crisis, or will they be too late?

I had moments of frustration and moments where I literally laughed out loud. As I relived the traumas with Gina and Reece, I gained a deeper level of appreciation and respect for the men and women in our Armed Forces. It reminds you how real PTSD is and how poorly it’s being treated. I thank Ms. Davis for bringing attention to the subject.

I fell in love with the secondary characters. I found Piper to be absolutely adorable. She’s reminded me of Bryce’s daughter, Colleen, from A Highlander’s Passion. I cannot forget Junebug and her love for Jack. It is truly hilarious. I enjoyed getting to know and (slightly) understand Ashley and everything she has been through. I’m not sure whose story I’m more looking forward to, ZQ or JJ. All I know is I can’t wait.

It’s great to read a book that has nonstop action. It’s even better to once in a while read a book about absolutely normal people building your average everyday relationship. There’s something sweet and charming about that; which is why I adored ON FIRE!

Scottie is a graphics designer about to take his vacation in the wilderness. He’s the safest camper you’ll ever meet. The weather takes a turn for the worst and you have yourself a forest fire!

Enter Jax. The steamy hot firefighter who saves Scottie’s life. He starts off a bit of a jerk… so he’s a bit rough around the edges. Once Scottie and Jax take the time to get to know each other and their quirks, sparks fly. It was quite interesting to see how their relationship develops. Also, not every scene is a sex scene. It was refreshing to read about two people genuinely wanting to get to know each other and not for sexual reasons, but to genuinely build a solid relationship.

I would totally recommend this for anyone looking for a quick, slightly realistic romance! (It is fiction after all!)

Newly released from prison for an assault that was self defense, Matt wants to turn his life around. It just so happens there’s a government funded program to help reform criminals to lower the recidivism rate… (imagine that!) You will receive an apartment, rent free, for 6 months, help with finding a job, and a counselor to talk to and help with all of that.

Brigitte finished her degree in social work and gets a job working for the program and sparks fly between Brigitte and Matt on their first meeting. However, Matt’s past catches up to him and it has Brigitte and Matt on the run!

The writing and chemistry was great. There were moments where I didn’t understand how Matt was such a great enforcer because he never noticed he was being followed. What I loved was his persona didn’t match his reputation. Yeah, he was a bad boy… but he had a heart of gold. His interactions with Brigitte were lovely and sassy. The teasing back and forth was endearing and it let you see the REAL Matt.

The secondary characters were great. They definitely added to the story and kept the Brigitte and Matt on their toes! If there was a sequel to Brigitte and Matt, I would definitely read it! Quick read and recommend it!

For 15 year old Jessica Delaney, life as she knows is about to change. It’s about to become more difficult than she could have ever realized. Jes doesn’t remember anything of her first 4 years of life and moves to a different state practically every year. This year, she and her family are moving to Credence… mom’s hometown. Her next door neighbor is mom’s sister, Aunt Charlie and her two children, Pade and Bailey. Let the fun begin! Starting with your first day of high school… sigh.

On her first day, she meets Chase. Now, you might think… he must be the love interest. You’re not wrong… but you’re not right either! He’s Bailey’s love interest. Chase and Jes do become extremely close. They can tell each other everything… and they do. Chase is just out of this world… literally! He and his mom are here on a mission to find a girl who went missing when she was young and in New York. Chase feels like it’s Jes and everything points to it. If only she could remember what happened when she was four!!!!

What I loved was there was mystery and intrigue. Is she the missing girl? If she is, how do you explain some of the things that are going on with her? Especially when you say it goes against the norms of your planet?

I figured out the answer to some of my questions early on, after I correctly made an assumption. It was interesting to watch it play out. There was some of your normal teenage angst… “Does Pade like me?” I have to say… Pade may have been one of my least favorite characters. He ran hot and cold pretty often. It’s a wonder Jes didn’t get whiplash with it! While it starts off a bit slow, it’s well worth it! Book 2 comes out in January and I’ll be waiting!
