Book Release: Burning Bright ~ Chris Cannon

Burning Bright by Chris Cannon is out today! Get your copy and fall in love today!

About the Book:

Bryn is back for her senior year at the Institute for Excellence, also known as shape-shifting dragon school. She isn’t sure which is scarier, the life-force sucking dragons stalking campus or the fact that she’s officially betrothed to Jaxon, a guy who will never love her. Not that she could ever love him, either… That’s just ridiculous.

Senior year should be fun. Her parents are alive, she’s finally fitting in, and she’s learning how to be a Medic. But what’s with Jaxon giving her strange looks? He runs hot and cold, and he doesn’t even have the excuse of being a hybrid fire-and-ice-breathing dragon like her. One minute they’re having a great time and the next, she wants to blast a fireball at his head. The marriage contract of doom looms over them–unless this match not made in heaven kindles a flame…

Blackmail Boyfriend ~ Chris Cannon

Current Read

Here’s a short synopsis… Haley has been deemed un-dateable due to her brothers interfering with every guy she’s ever had a crush on. She currently has a crush on Bryce, one of the popular guys in school. But now her reputation is at stake… all because names are important! To save her reputation, she is blackmailing Bryce into pretending to be her boyfriend.

Bryce starts off a bit one dimensional, but as the book goes along his character starts to develop. He can be a bit up tight and has OCD (he absolutely likes things a certain way) and when things in his life changes, he doesn’t really know how to cope with it. Everything about Bryce is about keeping up appearances. Once you meet his family… you start to understand why he is the way he is. Haley is the polar opposite. She shows her feelings and shares her thoughts freely. For Bryce, Haley is a breath of fresh air. When Bryce isn’t being a jerk, he’s quite charming and sweet.

The story is told from the alternate point of views of Bryce and Haley which is also refreshing as you got to understand each character and what’s going on with them. It’s a light, fun, and funny read. I quite enjoyed the story and watching it unfold. The only downside for me was that it wrapped up too quickly. It didn’t stop me from liking the story.
