As someone who gets really attached to my characters, I instantly fell in love with Silver and Valentin. When an alpha falls for someone, it is ill-advised to try and assassinate her! Valentin is a fun loving bear shifter with a heart of gold and going through strife about his broken clan. Silver is a strong and pure telepath who avoids emotions and practices “Silence”. It prevents her from hearing every mind in a certain radius. It kinda makes her an Ice Queen, but oh does she have a spark! But it’s a spark only Valentin notices. Per his usual, Valentin shows up to Silver’s apartment, unannounced… which would annoy anyone, but turns out to be a great thing! There’s an organization that wants the Trinity Accords (An agreement amongst the Psy, Humans, and Changelings to co-exists) to fail and the best way to do that would be to take out Silver. Not so fast! Valentin is there and Silver is his mate, she just doesn’t realize it yet. To protect her, she has to do the unthinkable. She has to live in the heart of Denhome, Valentin’s home.

This was my introduction to Nalini Singh and she had me captivated from the first page. Silver is a kickass, badass female lead. There were a few moments I felt myself get riled up on behalf of Valentin, but I was rooting for Silver as well. This book is close to 500 pages and I found myself practically reading this in almost one sitting. I’m not sure if this is a spin-off, but this is not a standalone story. However, it can definitely be read as one. It gives just enough information so you don’t feel lost. What I really loved was the integration of each race with each other. Silver’s interaction with other races was well detailed and showed a mutual respect between the races. Nalini Singh combats preconceived notices and biases with her writing and storytelling, so much that you can (if you choose to…) reflect on your own beliefs and biases. Ms. Singh’s storytelling is entertaining and compelling. She definitely knows how to pull on the heartstrings. When decisions are made and you have to deal with the fallout, you see where loyalties lie.

I look forward to reading more in this series, and can’t wait to go and start at the beginning!

Weddings tend to bring out the romantics in everyone. BC and Graham are no exception! They never thought they would see each other again, only to have a few cupids interfere. Once they encounter each other for the second time, they become inseparable. Doubt and insecurities have Graham running for the hills, but an illness has BC running to Graham. Through such a trying time and mortality on the line, will love conquer all?

The natural ease and flow of conversation between the two characters made this book quite an enjoyable read. There is a natural attraction and a humor that kept the story from being too heavy. There are moments where I couldn’t get the tears to stop falling. BC and Graham are absolutely great characters and very well developed. Their personalities, while quite different, they work very well together. I wish this was a series! (Psst! It looks like it is!)

For years, Gabby has always been the good girl and Flynn’s best friend. Both Gabby and Flynn are always passed over, Gabby because she’s sweet and innocent; Flynn because he’s deaf. Yet, dating each other didn’t seem to be an option. But what is awesome is the power of suggestion. Once the thought is put in your mind, it’s kinda hard to get out. The Battle Axes are playing matchmakers with some help from Brent and sparks fly!

Flynn has always had a crush on Gabby, but not wanting to lose their friendship he pushed those feelings away. Once Flynn gives in, something amazing happens. They click. They are meant for each other and everyone knows it, but when is the other shoe going to drop? The story of going from friends to dating was nicely done (with a pretty hot love scene!) The insecurities on both sides just grabbed you and refused to let you go. I was almost in tears in quite a few scenes. This may be my favorite book of the series, although I am looking forward to Drake’s story. Excuse me, I have to go reread this book! (Click the cover to purchase!)

My word! This book is amazing!!!! A 30-year-old mystery that is just waiting to be solved, a woman trying to forget her family connections, and a man trying to not repeat the same mistake from his past. This book lived up to and surpassed my expectations. Laura Nichols spent her life under the watchful of the media and public and craved a little bit of privacy. What she got instead was a barely alive mangled body and a police chief that’s too sexy for words. Nate moved from the busy city because of a mistake from his past. Not looking to repeat it, he moved to a little podunk town for a change of pace. In turn, he got Laura and an extremely crime scene. Let the mystery unfold!

In a small town where everyone knows everyone and they don’t take to outsiders very well, Laura and Nate have their work cut out for them. Someone is out to kill Laura and Nate won’t let that happen. Because of a guilty conscience, a creepy uncle, and a mysterious guy named “John”, things just keep getting more dangerous for Laura. This was an action-packed book with every chapter getting you one step closer to the killer and revealing events from Laura’s past. Blood Will Tell keeps you on the edge of your seat, greedily needing to know what happens next. Each character draws you in, having you wonder, “Is it them?” This is the first book I’ve read from Angel Nicholas, and it sure won’t be the last! (Click the cover to purchase!)

Everyone has a wacky (and sometimes tacky) family, you know, the kind that can frustrate you. This is Camryn’s family. Her sister is getting married and whatever can go wrong in Camryn’s life, absolutely does… in the matter of one day! She loses her apartment, her boyfriend, and her job in a matter of hours. Going home for her sister’s wedding, without a boyfriend, spells disaster. However, Cam’s sister has a solution: find someone who can pass the dysfunctional test. The person they know will pass the test: Troy. Now to just get him on board… Troy has always viewed Camryn’s family as his own. She needs help and he’s willing to do it. Can they convince everyone they are truly in a relationship (even though it’s just a week) without losing their hearts?

This truly a romantic comedy at it’s best. This family has everything. The perfect sister, the mom who thinks you can stand to not eat that… the grandmother who feels her opinions (no matter how crass) should be heard… and the 3-year-old niece who repeats everything she hears. It creates comedy and a huge chance for romance, which Kelly does so well. There were moments where Camryn frustrated me, but I understood where she was coming from. I need this to be turned into a Hallmark movie IMMEDIATELY!!!! (Click the cover to purchase this book!)

When you want to get out of your comfort zone, go big or go home! That’s exactly what Lacey did. It’s her first party and nervousness is expected. To take a break from the norm is quite desirable for Lacey, but it’s really hard to do when you have baggage. Cameron is simple. Everything is black and white, cut and dry. They hit it off, and we hit the ground running! If you are looking for something to keep you warm… this does the trick!

Cameron is not cocky, but he’s sure of himself. He lives a simple, yet interesting life. (I’m a little envious of him!) Lacey is shy and reserved, but she wasn’t always that way. While she still wears her heart on her sleeve, trust doesn’t come easily. Cameron works hard to break down her walls, and just as they start to tumble… her past catches up with her. Can Cameron and Lacey get past drama, a misunderstanding, and personal feelings to get the happiness they deserve?

Lacey is sweet and endearing. Cameron is utterly charming and I love them both. I would have loved for Lacey’s past to have fleshed out a bit, but hey… this series is just getting started! There is a list of awesome secondary characters that I can’t wait to get to know. GiGi, Lacey’s sister, and Stassi, Lacey’s friend are interesting characters and I’m intrigued to know their stories.

Erica Lynn writes in such a way that you don’t just feel relate to the characters, you know them. They’re your friends. When they’re happy, you’re happy. When they are miserable, you want to shake them and tell them to be happy again because they deserve it. I look forward to what happens next.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
