When outcast, Callen Blackheath, breaks orders and rushes into a burning building, his life changed forever. In this building, he found two bodies, one belonging to his sister, who is now dead, and the other belonging to Thatch. Without knowing the connection Thatch has to his sister, Callen gets both bodies out of the burning building just in time. Together, can Callen and Thatch get the most lethal drug off the street and out of the hands of rogue shifters and other paranormals?
I have to say, I struggled with this a bit. I thought this was an exciting story, and there was a bit of humor to it, but something was missing for me. The characters were interesting enough, but I think a little more backstory on Thatch could have helped a little. There was too much effort in making him appear mysterious. Callen was a fantastic character. He was laid back, and his interactions with the vampire, Kent, added the comic relief. There was non-stop action, making almost every page a page-turner. If there is a sequel, I would be interested in reading it; hopefully, it will have Thatch’s backstory in it.
