The cover and synopsis piqued my interest. It had the potential to be a truly captivating story. However, I cannot say that it was. It was difficult for me to get into from the very beginning. I gave up after weeks of trying to get through the story. The writing style was a bit choppy and presented quite the challenge. Some of the prose was difficult to understand and felt awkward. I had to read and re-read some passages several times just to get an idea of what was going on, which was disappointing because I did believe this could be an interesting story.

I gave it two stars for making it as far as I did, which was a struggle. While I am sure others will love this book, I don’t believe I was the intended audience. Although I struggled with the story, I believe it should be a chance.
