In a world where thin is in, Leah Martin stands out. Being curvaceous with a fuller figure draws constant criticism from her mother, her ex-boyfriend, and most importantly, herself. When Sam Cooper tries to change that, insert foot into mouth! Opposites truly attract in this story. Leah is a bit reserved with a heart of gold but self-conscious. Sam is impulsive, and drop dead gorgeous with good intentions. So when he gets Leah into a situation she can’t out of alone, comedy ensues! Cue all of the misunderstandings!
As a plus size woman, I immediately connected with Leah. I use my self-deprecating humor as a means to protect myself, so it was AWESOME to have a heroine that reflects the average woman, and a man who loves it. It is easy to connect with Leah and her level of insecurities. Alison created such a realistic character that I saw myself in Leah. Now all I need is Sam! Sam was endearing, and you couldn’t help fall in love with a guy who made you fall in love with yourself. With this book, Alison lets you know it’s okay to be curvy. It doesn’t mean you’re unattractive, it’s giving you another look at the standards of beauty.
