To Win Her Heart ~ Mackenzie Crowne

To Win Her Heart

In book 2 of the series, To Win Her Trust, (click here for review!) we got a bit of a preview of this story. It was love at first sight for country music’s favorite girl, Jessi. MMA fighter, Max, was quite taken with her too. However, no matter how hard she tried, Max kept his distance. That is until Jessi gets a stalker!

Jessi has a plan to solve the problem… but which problem? The stalker? Winning his heart? Or both? And at what cost? When he turns her down flat (without hearing her out) you think that’s the end of it… but it’s not. As it happens, dad is a bit more serious about Jessi’s safety. (She wasn’t exactly upfront about 1. her true intentions. and 2. having a stalker!) Her dad convinces Max to agree to her plan and the fun starts.

But what do you do when the person you believes deserves happiness, believes he doesn’t deserve you? GIRL POWER! Gracie, CC, (both pregnant!), Kris and V step in to help! It was nice to have a reunion with the girls! It was awesome having all these spitfires in one book! Jessi might have been small, but she was mighty.

While Max has a bad boy image (and he did things to earn that image) he also had a vulnerable side and it was nice to see. But it was also heartbreaking to see. There were tragedies in both Jessi’s and Max’s past… leading Jessi to fulfill a dream that’s not her’s and Max believing he’s not lovable. Just an all-around great story. (The stalker gets caught btw! Obviously!!!! But what’s a love story without a little danger and excitement!)
