What should have been a quick job, lasting only a week… turned into a conspiracy and an attempt cover up. Sterling just wants to do his job, collect his pay and go about his business. Instead, he starts a romance with Donovan, a fellow co-worker… who appears to be working undercover. They are working in the forest to see if it’s worth saving. There are forces at work to save the forest, but there are also forces to leave things the same… which side will win? When Sterling begins to hear voices, he believes he’s going crazy. Will he figure what’s happening in time? Will he make the right choice?
What makes this story different from other books I’ve read from this publisher is that it’s not all about the romance. Donovan and Sterling do share a brief love scene, but it wasn’t the main focus of the book. It was kinda refreshing to read a story that’s not all about the sex. I gave it a 4 out of 5 because there were moments where the story dragged, but it’s worth the read.
